The Slaw: Staying On Top of Pittsburgh

May 12, 2020

Pete Spynda is a local events producer known for events including Pittonkatonk, Weather Permitting and the Pandemic dance parties at Brillobox. Not one to sit at home doing nothing while social distancing, he quickly developed Alone Together Pittsburgh, a virtual variety show that has been streaming since March 18. With a rotating lineup of guests, Alone Together Pittsburgh seeks to strike a balance between educational and entertaining segments, all shot remotely. We discuss the details of the show and building a virtual community. He gives us his thoughts on what the future holds for events (spoiler alert: it’s too soon to tell). Plus: inexpensive online wine classes from Burghundy allow you to learn while staying home in your sweatpants, and local Lawrenceville shop Make + Matter unveils their new online store.
